Scope and Contents

From the Series:

As mentioned elsewhere in this finding aid, Eva Fasanella worked as Ralph Fasanella’s business manager. She took copious notes on every aspect of his career, including taking notes on her phone conversations, and preparing scripts for phone conversations that she was planning to make. Although her notebooks only begin around 1983, about a decade after Ralph Fasanella turned full time to his career as an artist, it is through her notes that many insights into the business side of her husband’s career can be seen. Included are bound notebooks with general notes, as well as bound notebooks related to specific topics, such as exhibitions, and the Ron Carver Public Domain Project. There are also loose notes. In some cases throughout the collection, Eva’s notes were left where they were found if they are pertinent to a particular issue, such as an exhibition. These would be found filed with that exhibition in the exhibition series.

One item of note is several drafts of either a letter or article that Eva was writing in response to an unspecified article about Ralph Fasanella. She states that the author makes the same oversight as many others, which is that there is no mention of Eva’s role in Ralph Fasanella’s career.
