This series contains essays and the correspondence related to their creation. This includes two essays written by Earnest that were to be the foreword to books about decoys, as well as several articles about American folk artists and collecting, which were published in newspapers and magazines. The series also includes an unpublished essay of Earnest’s childhood memories of a man who lived by the High Tor Mountain titled, “The Legend of Elmer Van Olden.” In addition to materials written by Earnest, there are several catalogs and magazines about decoys and decoy collectors.
